GGD Overnight Oats

If you keep up with me on social media, specifically on Instagram or Snap Chat, then you already know what’s been my recent regular indulgence for breakfast: Overnight Oats! Not too long ago at target, I picked up mini mason jars & have a new-found love for doing variations of oat recipes & yogurt parfait, on the go, in my handy trusty mini mason jars. They’re just so efficient for someone like me who has hectic mornings, always running around like a chicken with its head cut off, & on the go, go go. Can you relate? Either way, if you’re an oats, oatmeal fan, or really just a fan of efficiency on the go, that’s healthy, I think you’ll like this quick & easy recipe.
Why I love oats: they remind me of cereal in a way, just a healthier version. Regular oatmeal can be so basic at times so I like to switch it up even though I’m a creature of habit- I take how I start my day in all aspects, very seriously. There are so many benefits to eating over night oats, not just for breakfast, but throughout the day even as a snack. Mix in your desired amount of dry ingredients together:
Old fashion oats (I do 1 cup)
Chia seeds (I do 3 tbsps)
Coconut flakes (2 do 1 tbsp)
Cinnamon (I do 2 tbsp)
Then add your choice of liquids:
(You can use almond milk, coconut milk, whatever is your preference, or even yogurt)
I choose to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk, I pour enough almond milk in to cover the oats.
(If you want your oats really creamy the key is to add more milk than oats)
Then I add:
Brown sugar (1 tbsp)
Honey (2 tbsp)
 I stir the mixture together & leave in the fridge over night.
In the AM after the oats have had over night to absorb & become creamy, I pop open the mason jar when I’m ready to prep to eat.
First I add crushed almonds (as much as you desire), sometimes I’ll even add granola instead for an extra crunch.
Then I add my desires fresh fruits, I usually use strawberries & blueberries.
To top everything off, I drizzle more honey for sweetness!
It’s literally that easy!
